MadeiraCloud is a relatively young application, launching in February of 2012. The application was developed with the help of an angel investor, and has recently entered its public beta phase.
MadeiraCloud is the only app of its kind—a fully functioning, easy to manage WSIWYG editor for Amazon Web Services. The application is designed to help simplify the normally complex task of building an AWS chain and ensuring that it runs correctly. MadeiraCloud’s support for templates, cloning and migration make it a killer app for developers who find themselves frequently creating similar AWS systems.
MadeiraCloud is easy to use, with a top-down network diagram and simple drag and drop interface. Developers can choose from a variety of common AWS functions on the left-hand toolbar, and then place them wherever needed with the simple click of a mouse. MadeiraCloud also boasts a deep knowledgebase designed to get developers started with the application with as little fuss as possible. MadeiraCloud takes a very complex topic and allows developers to focus more on functionality that form or syntax.
Creating an account with MadeiraCloud is easy: The user must provide his or her email address and a username. Once these steps are complete, access will be given to the application.
At the time of this writing, MadeiraCloud was in its free public beta. While there are four pricing tiers available to users with different needs, only the free Personal plan can be accessed as of June 2012.
MadeiraCloud is an exceptional application for developers who work extensively with Amazon Web Services. This community has been asking for a WSIWYG editor for some time, and MadeiraCloud marks the first time a team has attempted to create such an application. It’s also handy for developers new to the AWS environment, as it can help soften the learning curve.
